star Frequently Asked Questions
Before contacting us with your error/comment/question, please read the list of FAQs to see if your question is answered.
  1. I was part-way through the assessment when the power went out, my computer blew up, and/or my dog ate my assessment. Do I need to start over again?
When taking Sandbox's creativity assessment, for security purposes and management of the signup process, your answers and information are not saved or stored in our database until you have reached the "Congratulations" page at the end of the assessment. So, if you have not reached this page, we have not received your information. However, we would still love for you to be considered in our pool of potential All-Stars, so we encourage you to sign up again, and hopefully (knock on wood) there won't be an earthquake or Godzilla attack this time. If you encountered a technical problem with our website in the sign up process, please let us know and we will aim to fix the issue as soon as possible.

  2. I made a spelling error in the assessment. Will this be held against me?
Fortunately, we isn't grading speling or grammer, per se. Although we certainly encourage proper spelling and grammar to ensure your ideas are understood and scored accurately, if you happened to misspell a word, we'll let is go this time. However, if we happened to misspell something on our website, we always appreciate the heads up so we can fix it ;-)

  3. How long does it take to hear back regarding an error message I submitted?
We try to respond to submitted error messages within two business days, although the complexity of the issue may require a little bit longer for us to address a specific situation. We definitely appreciate your feedback on any errors you receive, and we aim to resolve them as soon as possible.

  4. The back and forward buttons on my Internet browser don't work when I'm taking the creativity assessment?!!
Yep, that's on purpose, actually, to help standardize the assessment process and help ensure answers are received correctly in our database.

  5. I have more amazing ideas that I just thought of, but I can't get back in to my assessment!
Yes, that is to help keep our assessment standardized. If there was a technical issue that didn't allow you to submit ideas, please let us know, but otherwise, you should be all set, and it's okay if you have more ideas after the fact. That's a normal occurrance for everyone, and something that is factored into our overall assessment process.

  6. What happens to my ideas after I submit them? Are you guys going to run off with them and make a gazillion dollars from my ideas?
The ideas you submit in the creativity assessment are strictly for assessment purposes only. Once we receive your ideas, they are scored according to a rigorous research-based methodology, which helps us identify the top percentiles of creative folks from across the nation. We don't sell, share, or use these ideas in any other way. Ditto for your personal information. We never share, sell, or use that information in any way other than matching creative folks like yourself with appropriate Sandbox client projects.

  7. I signed up. So... when am I gonna start getting involved in paid client sessions?
All of our opportunities for creative projects are directly driven by client needs - that is, what types of consumers they are seeking ideas and input from. For example, a company looking for macaroni and cheese ideas might want to put together a creative panel of moms and dads with kids ages 6-15, so we specifically get those men and women involved. With that said, sometimes we have matches for new applicants right away, and in other situations, it may take a while longer to have that match appear. In any case, we're always on the constant hunt for ways to keep everyone involved, and we will certainly be in touch as soon as it looks like we might have a potential project fit. Unfortunately, given the volume of new applicants we have, we're unable to respond to everyone personally when they sign up. Thanks for your understanding with that.

With that said, from time to time, we may have a client looking for idea generators with very specific demographic and psychographic backgrounds (i.e. like the moms and dads mentioned above). So, don't be surprised if you receive a survey request looking for a little more information - this means we might have a project fit, but we just need to learn a few more things about you. And, don't worry, as always, we don't share, sell, or distribute this information. It's kept confidential and used solely for matching you with project opportunities.

Regarding the time, location, and pay for such sessions you may be invited to, each opportunity will vary based on the involvement of the project, your own background and expertise, and what the client is looking for. So, that's why on our website we generalize by saying "a couple hundred bucks for a few hours of your time," since it really varies.
